Epiphanies

Sometimes I used to argue against God why there are so many gifted people who create magic with their lives and others who spend all their years being just a spectator to other's  show. Even when I am convinced of the fact that there cannot be a show without audience but why is it that the audience is meant to be an audience and why was he not given a chance to be a showman and enjoy the feeling of making a thousand others feel the way you expect them to by your showmanship.

How are people chosen for a specific task to be performed throughout their life? Is it just a matter of chance or someone rigs everything from somewhere above? I don't  have an answer to this question. I have to discuss this thought with a lot of other equally interested and ignited minds to come up with even slightly probable axioms. Well, today's post is not going to a spiritual search leading to God but it is going to be about epiphanies.

We all know some famous epiphanies of history - the discovery of Gravity by Sir Isaac Newton. It goes like he just saw an apple falling down from a tree and it struck him that some invisible force is pulling it towards the centre of the earth. And another striking epiphany is that of the formulation of the Archimedes Principle. Archimedes suddenly found out that the amount of displaced water is equal to the volume of the object dipped. So what do we infer from these incidents. Is God partial towards a particular group of people? Is it some divine spark that clicks the idea button in some random souls and they go on to be revered as great scientists.

Tarzan came in the dream of its writer, Mickey Mouse first appeared not in the animation movie that Walt Disney made but in his dreams while he was asleep. Similarly the structure of benzene too was found as a result of a symbolical dream. So are these guys some special people who were blessed before they go to bed to have a life changing dream so that they can just sleep their way to success (literally).

Nope. It never was luck! Tell me the truth - How many of you have some weird dream and think nothing about it at all the next morning? Well almost everyone. But these guys are different from us.

These people are really gifted not with some special power to have a spectacular dream but with a will to act upon their dreams. The epiphanies are not a spark or a shooting star that appears from nowhere, it is the well-deserved result of their hard work for years or sometimes even decades preceding it. Newton was not some random person taking a stroll on the park to enjoy the scenery. He was spending his whole life thinking about the physical forces that control the celestial bodies. So it isn't an accident that an apple falling could trigger something in his mind. It was the result of all the time and effort he spent in pondering over the theory.

There is a saying, Fortune favours the prepared. Of course, fortune favours someone who prepares for it whole heartedly. It doesn't fall on some random lazy couch potatoes' lap. Even if it does, it is not going to last!

That was my thought on epiphanies. But I really would love to have an argument on this particular topic because it truly is intriguing. So if any of you think the same way as me or the opposite just drop a comment here and we'll  sort things out!
